Homemade Ketchup In 20 Minutes

July 14, 2020 by Jennifer

In this post, I share my recipe on how to make homemade ketchup in 20 minutes. Using a handful of ingredients, you can adjust the flavors to suit any dish.

Ketchup. This yummy versatile condiment can top anything and make it tastier, in my opinion. It’s a perfect complement to your fries, burgers, or hotdogs. And for some, it goes well over scrambled eggs, savory french toast, salads, or even used as a dipping sauce for some veggies. Personally, I enjoy a deconstructed burger with my mustard and ketchup over my salad, hold the bun. And what’s even better is that with a handful of ingredients, you can have homemade ketchup ready in just 20 minutes!

Hiking Burroughs Mountain Loop Trail

June 23, 2020 by Jennifer Leave a Comment

Hiking the Burroughs Mountain Loop Trail offers amazing views. Come walk with me along rocky paths, overlooking a dichotomy of beauty from right to left!

Up to this point, I have never actually done anything near Mt. Rainier! And I moved to the PNW in 2007. I have always admired it’s grandness and beauty from afar. And finally, in September 2019, I hiked the Burroughs Mountain Loop Trail on Mt. Rainier with my sister, her husband, her best friend (I’ll call my “other sister”), and our cousin, . Yes, it took family to finally get me there.

First Attempt at Angel Food Cake

June 20, 2020 by Jennifer 1 Comment

Come along as I venture into my first attempt at Angel Food Cake, revel in my triumphs, laugh at my errors, and laugh even more at the end result!

Everyone enjoys a light and fluffy angel food cake topped with whipped cream and strawberries. The angel food cake alone is light and sweet and slightly caramelized on the outside. It’s a dessert that heralds in the start of summer and all things berries. And I wanted to contribute with my first ever angel food cake to ring in summer!

It seems that everyone I know has tried an angel food cake recipe at least once in their lifetime. Personally, I never had. The thought of whipped egg whites had always intimidated me. Under-beaten, you wouldn’t get any rise. Over-beaten, you’d whip the rise out of it. But I was feeling courageous one day. It also helped that I had started making cloud bread which made whipping up egg whites less intimidating. Jumping on Pinterest, I looked up some recipes and decided to give it a try!

So come along with me on my first journey into this whipped egg white adventure!
