Many people have weird food combinations that they like that others do not, and vice versa. Here is my list of 12 strange likes and dislikes.
Everyone is unique. Everyone is made with specific taste buds that appreciate some flavors while being repulsed by others. Common flavor combinations are the more enjoyable while the more weird combinations may not be as enjoyable. My husband says I have some weird tastes in foods. So I thought I’d share my list of 12 strange likes and dislikes.

Cold pizza
One of my most favorite breakfast foods to eat is cold pizza!! Mmmm…. Straight out of the refrigerator and into my belly! My husband does not understand why I do this. He thinks this is disgusting. I’m actually trying to get my kids to enjoy this past time of mine! But typically they ask for their day old pizza to be heated up. Oh well. I’ll keep trying though. I’m sure they’ll get into this strange habit when they’re teenagers.
Macaroni and cheese pizza
Speaking of pizza, there is a pizza joint in Seattle that serves macaroni and cheese pizza. OMG! It is absolutely delicious! I love macaroni and cheese alone. But atop pizza? Again, my husband was completely skeptical. But he jumped on that bandwagon real quick after one bite. It was the best pizza we’ve had in a while. Since then, because we don’t get into Seattle much, I’ve been looking into recipes.
French fries dipped in milkshake
This is something I did when I was little. I’d get a small milkshake, either vanilla or strawberry (chocolate didn’t taste as good). And I’d have my french fries. Instead of chowing down on my cheeseburger, I’d remove the lid from my shake and dip my fries into it. No need for ketchup or any other condiment. This is something I actually did get my kids into as well! I still enjoy it because the sweet and savory flavor combination is one of my favorites. However, if I don’t have a shake, then I’ll use my next strange like…
Mustard with french fries
Most people enjoy ketchup as their condiment of choice to accompany their french fries. And while I do love ketchup (especially if it’s my homemade ketchup), for most fried appetizers, I LOVE dipping my french fries in mustard!
Potato chips in sandwiches
This next like has to do with texture. I’m not a big sandwich person and don’t crave them often. But on the rare occasion I do, the sandwich is made multitudes better with the addition of potato chips INSIDE! The chips I usually add are plain salted chips or bbq chips. Yum…
Ketchup and Mustard on my lettuce-only salads
Now this was a random and recent find. I was having a turkey burger patty without the bun with a pile of lettuce next to it. Normally I have some sort of simple dressing or just top it with cheese. I normally put mustard and ketchup on the patty and eat it with my salad. But one day, I put mustard and ketchup on everything. And it was delicious!! What I’m basically having is a deconstructed burger, protein-style. So ketchup and mustard are usual toppings on my salad when I have a protein-style, deconstructed burger!

Baked goods with fruit and fresh or dried berries
When in season, I do enjoy my fair share of fresh fruits and berries. I like dried fruits as well as a nice sweet snack when fresh in not available. BUT I DO NOT enjoy when those berries or fruits are cooked and become this mushy blob. It’s a texture issue for me. I’d even enjoy whatever baked sweet or goodie if the mushy fruit or berries are scraped out. So I’m fine with the sweet flavors that the fruit imparts. The texture I can do without.
Pancakes, waffles, sweet crepes
In the morning, I’m not a pancakes, waffles, or crepes kinda gal. They’re just a bit too doughy and too sweet for me in the early morning, something with which I do not want to start off my day. Now, don’t get me wrong. I do enjoy a donut or two. And once in a blue moon, I’ll take a bite of a waffle or have a savory crepe. But generally speaking, I’d pass on any of those offerings for something simple and protein-packed.
Omelettes or runny eggs
What I do enjoy for breakfast is eggs. And not all that fancy schmancy style eggs either. I’m talking plain and simple, like scrambled or fried. And my normal go-to is to have some kind of cheese with it. What I do NOT enjoy are omelettes or runny eggs. Now you would think that since I like cheese with my eggs, why wouldn’t I like it sandwiched in between a scramble, crepe style? Nope. I prefer it all mixed instead of sandwiched in and falling out.
Turkey during Thanksgiving
For Thanksgiving, typically I fill up on the sides like green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, and stuffing. Just for giggles, I’ll have a teeny tiny bit of turkey with a dollop of gravy to add some protein into my plate o’ carbs. Or I’m okay having a whole turkey leg. But in general, turkey, specifically white meat, is not the first thing with which I fill my plate.
Cupcakes
Of all sweets and desserts, cupcakes are the least of my likes. For me, it’s a big punch of flavor in a small package. While most people enjoy that fact, I don’t. It’s too much in a little bit. And usually packed with my other dislike….
Icing
Now there are some types of icing with which I’m okay. Typically cupcake icing, I just do not like. I’d rather eat the cupcake and take the icing off. It’s funny when I watch my kids eat cupcakes or cakes. One son will do the same thing I do – take the icing off and eat the cupcake. The other son will lick all the icing and sort of eat the cake. Yuck….
Are these strange to you?
And there you have it! – my 12 strange likes and dislikes. I don’t think it’s all that strange. But I’ve been gauging what’s strange based on my husband’s reactions. But he’s pretty strange… I guess you can say he’s my other strange like… ;D

No wonder we love each other.
Cold pizza for breakfast! Waffles for dinner, once in a great while, and salsa instead of syrup. Mac and cheese pizza sounds like the best of both worlds. Icing is pretty. It’s not food. Now, chocolate ganache, on the other hand♡

You don’t like cupcakes! I love cupcakes with very little icing though.
I can’t think of any strange dislikes or likes that I may have but my husband strange like is Marmite (although some may agree with him) and his dislikes – Canned corned beef and Spam. Who doesn’t like Spam??
